Game Changer, and We Love it!
Being the mechanics that we are today here in good old London, Ontario, we strive to stay on top of current automobile news. Sometimes we hear about a new performance part that adds some horsepower, or sometimes it’s a whole new car that really excites us. Today it’s something much more than that, it’s basically going to change the entire industry, it’s the new Tesla 70D model that is coming out.
This new design in automobile is very forward thinking, it is bringing us into a realm where we won’t want any other car but the Telsa, and that’s because of all of it’s wonderful features that you simply cannot get out of another car in the price range, or as a matter of fact in any price category. The new Tesla is of course all electric like it’s predecessor, with an extended range of nearly 400km between charges. Yes that’s right, charges. If you haven’t heard about it yet, the Tesla is an all electric car that plugs into your homes outlet with a special adaptor and charges the car for it’s next road trip. Unlike other all electric cars, the Tesla isn’t limited to a short distance, it can go nearly 400km before you need to recharge it. And if that hasn’t got you sold yet, wait till you hear about it’s other features. Unlike other all electric cars out there that are tiny and tight, the Tesla is roomy enough to comfortably seat 5 people, and their luggage! It’s huge, roomy and supposedly very comfortable. But wait there’s more, you also get a nifty feature with it called Autopilot - think of cruise control from the future, that’s exactly what it is. It can drive, change lanes, stop at lights and stop signs, and even avoid collisions. It’s the kind of cruise control that we have all been dreaming about.
If you think we’re done, we’re not even close. The autopilot system can take it a step further. When on private property it can park itself, slip in the garage and come to your front door at the exact time that you want it by, entirely on it’s own without anyone even needing to be in the car. Pretty cool eh!
And it isn’t even all of the above that has us most excited. It also has a feature called Insane Mode, seriously. In Insane Mode the car basically becomes a McLaren P1, and when we say basically, we mean it. It has quite literally tied the McLaren P1’s 0-60 time of 3.2 seconds. That’s pretty insane if you ask us. At a price less than half of a Porsche 911 it gives you the best features of all your cars, and puts them into one car, something everyone thought was not possible. Good on Tesla for making a dream a reality. The base model starts at $71,000. Oh and did we forget to mention that it has all wheel drive and an incredible warranty. We better start hitting the text books and take a course on these babies, as we imagine that they won’t be like anything that we’ve seen before. Literally, we think that they are being built on the moons of Saturn. :)
